Recipe of teh day: Pinwheels

This is a recipe mmom used regularly. It also has tomato soup wich my four year old loves, so it goes over well at my house too.

2 1/4 cups of Biscuit mix
2/3 cup of milk
1 lb hamburger , browned
1 can tomato soup

Mix biscuit mix and milk together to make dough, more mix can be added if dough is too sticky. On a floured surface, roll dough into a rectangle about 1/3 inch thick. spread hamburger onto dough and roll dough up like you would cinnamon roll dough. Cut into 1 inch circles. Bake at 450 for 8-10 minutes. Mix tomato soup with 1/2 can of water and warm it up. Pour the soup over the pinwheels. You can also use cream of mushroom soup if you prefer.

HTH of teh day: Biscuit Mix

I keep biscuit mix around because it is great for a quik addition to a meal. Biscuits make a good side almost anything. i also use the mix to make biscuit bread, pot pie or cobbler.
It appears i will need to work on motivating myelf if I ever want to reach my goal of posting everyday. Blogging is appearantly much more difficult than I origanly thought.

HTH of the Day: Italian dressing

Okay, it isn't as versatile as some other items I like to keep around but it definatly has it's place. Pour it over some pasta, and veggies for a quik pasta salad, it makes an excellent marinade for chicken.

Spice/Herb of the Day: Basil

This is my favorite herb to add to past, soup or salads. It has a sweet taste that I really like and gives foods a really nice flavor. I like to put it on garlic toast, baked chicken or pork and in breads.

Recipe of The Day: 10 minute potluck salad

This is too easy. I use it a lot and it always goes over well.

2 medium tomatoes
2 medium cucumbers
1 crown of broccli
1/2 cup Italian dressing
1 tbs crushed Basil
1/8 cup Parmesan cheese

Cut vegtables into bite size pieces, about an inch. Add the rest of the ingredients and toss well.

Recipe of the day: Empanadas

Flour tortilla shells: small ones are better but large ones can be used
Fruit pie filling
1 tbs cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
hot oil for frying

Mix cinnamon and sugar together and set aside. Spoon a pie filling onto tortilla shells, a big spoonful for small ones or a couple of spoonfuls for bigger ones. fold sides of tortilla shells in like a burrito, or roll up (do not over fill or it will run out.) Make sure oil is hot and lay tortillas in the oil with the open flap down. Watch them carefully because they will burn fast. Turn them over when golden brown and cook the other side. Roll them in the sugar mixture or powdered sugar if you prefer.
